In 1998, Glenn Scherer and Colleen Connolly, along with two other engineers, created Malick & Scherer, and set off on a strategic mission to raise the bar currently being offered from engineering services. Keeping steadfast to this objective, M&S evolved into a dominant player in the engineering worlds of both ‘transportation’ and ‘telecommunications’.
In 2016, the two divisions amicably split into separate companies and the telecommunications group became Scherer Design Group (SDG). With Ms. Connolly & Mr. Scherer at the helm of SDG, the newly formed firm seamlessly platformed off the reputation they carefully navigated while at M&S, taking with them, the same dedicated team members, the same best practices, and most significant of all, the same clients.
SDG continued to thrive as a telecommunications firm, and in 2017 they introduced construction management and turn-key services to their portfolio. Now known in the industry as a one-stop provider for all telecommunication needs.
To assist in staying progressive, SDG promoted Professional Engineer, Steven Krug, as the third partner in 2019. Along with a reputation as a dedicated employee for twelve years, Mr. Krug displays an impressive knowledge base and is seen as an outstanding client relations advocate.
In early 2021, we became certified by the State of New Jersey as a Woman Owned Business Enterprise. We are excited for the doors this new accreditation can open.
The growth continues in 2022 with the start-up of an in-house Site Acquisition department. This expansion of SAC services provides our clients with more strategic pricing and fast tracked results.
SDG has diligently worked to be a top engineering and consulting firm offering full-service turn-key solutions to the telecommunications industry. As a company, we are committed to grow, progress and adapt alongside the boundless reputation of the telecommunications world that we now live in.
