PARTNER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Colleen Connolly platformed her career when she joined original sister-company Malick & Scherer as an Associate in 1998. Colleen brings more than 25 years of engineering experience to Scherer Design Group as Partner/CEO and signing professional engineer. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of staff development, project oversight and client relations, Colleen is typically found at SDG headquarters springing from design reviews to staff meetings.
Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and has since obtained Professional Engineer licenses in NJ, NY, and PA.
Colleen has garnered a wealth of technical experience, industry knowledge and professional aptitude that has provided her a reputation of a trusted and respected professional within the industry. Colleen keeps her ear close to the ground performing site visits and providing professional testimony for many of SDG’s projects.
Outside of the SDG nirvana, Colleen can be found on an adventurous hike in-or-out of the country, mastering her yoga techniques, or taking a self-guided mojito tour around New York City.
PARTNER & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Glenn Scherer is the original owner and partner of the firm’s antecedent sister, known as Malick & Scherer, co-founded in 1998. In 2016, Glenn created Scherer Design Group to deliver superior service in the ever-evolving world of telecommunication design. Currently holding the role of Partner/CFO, Glenn oversees the financial health of the company, with specific attention on financial analyses, client contracts, and legal affairs.
Glenn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and has since obtained Professional Engineer licenses in NJ, NY, CT, and MD.
Having ventured into a partnership early in his career, Glenn channeled his confidence and enthusiasm for engineering to create a company known for outstanding client relations and innovative design. Twenty-two years later, this proprietary experience has provided Glenn the opportunity to share his success and mentor a team of Professional Engineers, Jr. Engineers, Design Technicians and Administrative staff.
When not scootering (literally) around the office pestering the SDG employees, Glenn can be found (or not found) tackling the Baja peninsula in a high-speed rough-terrain adrenaline-pumping race in a souped-up ATV.
PARTNER & CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Steve Krug joined SDG in 2007 as a Jr. Engineer, who was immediately recognized as a trailblazer due to his real-world thinking and construction background. In 2019, Steve was invited to share in the partnership with Glenn and Colleen, and currently holds the role of Partner/COO. Steve is responsible for the oversight of all projects from concept to close-out. He is actively involved in educating, training, and providing on-site project experiences to the company’s junior engineers, field technicians and design technicians.
Steve holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and has since obtained his Professional Engineering license in NJ, NY, and DE. Steve is also a certified Special Inspector in Welding and Structural Steel Bolting.
Steve’s hands-on approach, combined with his natural business sense and easy-going personality, has added a new energy to the SDG leadership team. Spending most of his time on the front lines, Steve has become the fresh face of the SDG brand and works tirelessly in developing new partnerships, all while keeping ahead of the telecom evolution.
When not traveling from cell-site to cell-site, Steve is most often found enjoying one of his two hobbies, wake boarding or home construction and remodeling. Known in the office as Captain Steve, he spends most of the warm days chasing his boat on Lake Hopatcong. (The SDG team is still waiting for an invite…something about maxing out on life jackets!?)
